Our History
It was in the mid-1930’s that a handful of individuals began meeting in the old Grange hall at the end of Slater Street on Lake Washington. As the congregation increased, it was decided to purchase the hall and thus the KirklandSeventh-dayAdventistChurch had a building of its own. During the Second World War, the Lake Washington Shipyard (now the site of Carillon Point) brought tremendous growth to Kirkland’s population. Outgrowing its facility, the congregation secured property no longer needed by the Shipyard and built a new church on NE 52nd Street. A church school was begun in the basement of the chapel – the genesis of the Kirkland SDA School and Puget Sound Adventist Academy. As its numbers grew, the congregation determined to construct a facility more suited to its needs. Through much personal sacrifice, the present building was completed in 1970. The later addition of the Fellowship Hall and Community Service Center in 1986 was indicative of the broad vision of the membership. Through worship, study, fellowship and mission, the desire of the congregation has also been to service church members and neighbors, and to do all to the glory of God.

Our Mission

Our Mission
The mission of the Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist Church is to lovingly invite everyone in our area to clearly understand, accept, and experience with us the truly wonderful good news of Jesus Christ in order to improve our lives today and be ready for the soon return of Jesus, the only real hope for this world.

Our Ministry
The purpose of the ministry of the Kirkland church is to build people up in the faith of Jesus and help them experience the blessings of the Ten Commandments of God. We prepare people to be: devoted to Jesus, useful in His hands in order to help meet the needs of others, and ready for the return of Jesus. We will accomplish this by having the most robust disciple-making educational system possible in a local church of our size.

Our Desire
It is our desire to be the most loving people possible and be true disciples of Jesus. We desire to be fully equipped for every good work that God calls us to do. We desire to truly understand the entire message of the Bible especially the messages that are important for today. We desire to worship God according to the Spirit and truth of God.

Our Affiliation
The Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of the rapidly growing global organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, whose mission is to make disciples of all people by sharing with them the everlasting gospel in the context of the three angels' messages of Revelation 14:6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Savior and unite with His remnant Church, discipling them to serve Him as Lord, and preparing them for His soon return.

Our Slogan
“Inviting everyone into a wonderful experience with Jesus”

Living our mission
To realize our mission we will make friends in the community, discover, and meet their needs.

Our mission in motion
To put our mission in motion there are four ministries we will focus on health, youth, family, and Bible study.

Our goal
Our goal is for every member to be involved in one ministry and one mission.

Our Values
• People – young, old,  and new
• Our Schools – we are a major constituent church for KSDA and PSAA
We also value our young people getting a college education
• Our facilities – clean, neat, functional, and safe
• Leadership – well informed,  compassionate,  cared for,  and multiplying
• Worship – to be relevant to God and inspiring for people
• Technology – to make good use of technology to enhance what we do

Our Beliefs

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church's understanding and expression of the teaching of Scripture. Revision of these statements may be expected at a General Conference session when the church is led by the Holy Spirit to a fuller understanding of Bible truth or finds better language in which to express the teachings of God's Holy Word.
