Thought For the Week

“Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were printed in a book!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock forever."
Job 19:23-24
Doneskey

Guest Speaker This Sabbath

We Are Happy to Have Michael Doneskey speak for us this Sabbath. Michael is a law student at Seattle University School of Law, now in his second year, with plans to go into Real Estate. He graduated high school at Puget Sound Adventist Academy and from the age of 15 while at that school, God radically transformed his life. Since then, he has had the privilege to travel across the west coast sharing the gospel and power of Jesus. He is also a graduate of ARISE discipleship school, through Light Bearers Ministries.

Sermon Topic: Job was a man, not a superhero... He attacked God, but when you look at his life, if you were to switch places with Job… What would you do? Would you do the same?

Re-Opening Safety Guidelines

King County will be in Phase 3 as of March 22. However, until the distancing is reduced from 6 feet, we are unable to seat anymore people than 25% capacity and still distance safely. We have a committee that will be evaluating a plan for returning to normal as we are allowed. Until then, we will continue to have up to 110 people in the sanctuary with overflow in the Fellowship Hall. Our service begins at 11am and we are not holding any Sabbath School classes or meals at this time.
If you are planning to attend, please be aware of the following precautions:
Masks must be worn throughout the service while in the building (unless you have medical reasons not to). We will provide a mask if you don’t have one.
• Maintain social distancing of 6 feet inside and outside of the building.
• Restrooms should have no more than 2 people in them at a time.
• Those who are at-risk for health conditions are encouraged to stay home.
• If you are sick, please stay home and join us on livestream until you are well.
• Please socialize outside in the breezeways or in the parking lot, not inside the buildings.
Thank you for taking steps to ensure the health of our congregation!

We have 13 Pathfinders in PBE this year. 2021-2022 Church Officers: Due to the COVID-19 restrictions this year and inability to be involved, we are asking everyone to keep their offices for the next term. If anyone cannot continue after March 31, please let the office know via email or write a note on a pew card. The Nominating Committee will only fill positions as needed. Also, if you would like to be involved, please also do the same and we will gladly consider your request.

Women's Ministries: Ladies, you are welcome to join our virtual study Sabbath mornings at 9am. March 20 we will begin a new study looking at the book “HOPE for Troubled Times – How to thrive in a shattered world” by Pastor Mark Finley. ‘Fear, worry, and stress can overwhelm and consume us, but fear must give way to faith as we adjust our focus. Fear is an emotion, Faith is an attitude, and focus is a choice.’ If you are interested in joining our study group or have questions, please contact Anita Dorland or the church office.

Scotland Mission Trip: Please visit the web site for any updates on this mission trip: https://goodnewsforscotland.wixsite.com/mission. Contact us for more information! Anyone interested in joining, please contact Jeff or Holly Leggott.

Alarm System: Anybody with a key now also needs an alarm code once they enter the building at the office-side door. The code for the old key box at the office-side door has also been changed.

Announcement Info: If you ever have an announcement to add to the bulletin, bulletin board or from the pulpit, please get approval from the office by noon Thurs or speak directly to a pastor. Thank you!

Shut-Ins: In an effort to provide better care for our members, we are asking your help in locating members of the Kirkland church who are not able to come to Sabbath services. We do not always know when someone is ill or disabled. Our pastors and elders would love to visit with these valuable members.

Room/House for Rent? We receive many requests from various Adventist members needing temporary housing/rooms to rent in this area. If you have anything available, please contact the church office, 425-822-7922.

Information Changes: If your address and/or phone ever change, please make that indication on your tithe envelope or a pew card so the information also gets to the Treasurer, they will not know by your check alone. Thank you.

"Just Us," a new podcast from Washington Conference, launched this year to model healthy and respectful conversation about race, justice and Christianity. “Second Corinthians 7:2 gives counsel to ‘make room in your heart,’ and that is what we desire to do through this podcast,” says Bill Roberts, podcast host. “We may not always agree with each other, but we want to respect each other and move forward with understanding to bring glory to God and to help this world be a better place."The podcast originated after a pastor’s meeting in January 2019 where ministers learned how to have crucial conversations. “I asked the panel: ‘What can we do to keep growing?’” Roberts recalls. “The younger pastors said: ‘Do a podcast.’” Roberts is joined in the podcast with co-hosts Hanz Jouissance, John Brunt, and Mimi Weithers-Bruce. Each 45-60-minute episode blends history, personal experience and scripture. The pilot episode shares how the panel became involved in racial reconciliation.“It’s a difficult conversation in the church because we are all believers who are supposed to have a common ground,” admits Jouissance.“There are so many people who don’t want to change their heart. They want to keep things the way they are,” acknowledges Weithers-Bruce. “We are asking people to listen and learn.”
